The Care Behind Fertility Treatments

1 in 8 American women will struggle when trying to conceive.

Sometimes the path to pregnancy requires more support, especially after you’ve been trying on your own for some time without the outcome you hoped for.

This process can feel exhausting in every way - emotionally, mentally, and physically - and it often affects your relationships, work, confidence, and overall sense of well-being.

We see you and we’re here for you, every step of the way.

When Growing Your Family Needs Extra Support

By the time you start seeking additional help, you may already feel worn down by the stress and uncertainty of it all.

In some cases, conception may require outside support because sperm is not currently available to you, whether that’s due to being unpartnered, a partner’s fertility challenges, or damage to available sperm.

Bringing additional resources into such a deeply personal journey can feel overwhelming.

Your experience deserves care that acknowledges the emotional weight of that reality.

You’re Not the Only One Dealing With This

Assessment of Fertility: Let’s take a peek, shall we?

Following a comprehensive physical exam and review of your history, we will determine the appropriate lab tests to assess and address any hormonal or other medical concerns that may be affecting your ability to conceive.

If you are partnered with a man, this initial workup will include an order for a semen analysis to ensure immediate evaluation of both partners. We will assess ovarian reserve and ovulatory function to determine what measures might be necessary.

Once an underlying cause of infertility is identified, we will discuss the next steps to achieve pregnancy.

Sometimes, infertility for women means that they have lost babies. In this case, we carefully assess the underlying cause of loss, and we treat the source to prevent repeated losses.

Assessment of Tubal Patency: Is the path clear?

Occasionally, women can have a condition in which the fallopian tubes, through which the eggs travel to become fertilized, are blocked by scar tissue or other debris.

Our Gynecologic Surgeon, Dr. Chinn can use a FemVue device, which is non-invasive and does not introduce any chemical contrast medium into your body, to attempt to open your tubes to clear the path to make a baby.

Ovulation Induction: Free the eggs!

If we determine that your infertility is caused by ineffective ovulation, we will offer options for inducing ovulation, which are varied. All options will be discussed thoroughly, and the course you decide to take will be your own.

Ultrasonography: When we need a more in-depth evaluation.

If there are concerns based on your history regarding the status of your ovaries, your uterus, or its lining, we may perform an ultrasound, either transvaginally, transabdominally, or both, to assess your anatomy.

When you achieve pregnancy, we will offer to monitor your early pregnancy frequently with an ultrasound assessment to ensure progress. We prefer to follow all of our infertility patients through their successful first trimesters.

Intrauterine Insemination: When the sperm needs a little help getting there.

At times, women require assistance with the installation of sperm, either because they are unpartnered, their partners do not make sperm, or their partners have defective sperm.

We can use donor sperm or your partner's appropriately washed and prepared sperm specimen to inseminate directly into the uterus, which is an incredibly effective manner of insemination. We accept shipment of your sperm samples directly to the clinic to ensure safekeeping.

FAQs About Fertility Treatments

When should I consider fertility treatment?

You may want to explore fertility care if you’ve been trying to conceive for several months to a year without success, or sooner if you have known reproductive health concerns or irregular cycles.

Do I need a partner to start fertility treatment?

No. Fertility care is available whether you’re single, partnered, or using donor options. Your care plan is built around your individual path to parenthood.

Are fertility treatments only IVF?

No. IVF is just one option among many. While we do not offer IVF in our setting, we are happy to assist with referrals if this is deemed necessary. Fertility care can also include lifestyle support, ovulation tracking, medications, intrauterine insemination (IUI), or other approaches, depending on your situation.

How long does fertility treatment take?

It depends on your body, treatment plan, and goals. Some people see progress within a few cycles, while others may need a longer, step-by-step approach.

Does fertility treatment guarantee pregnancy?

No treatment can guarantee pregnancy, but fertility care is designed to improve your chances and help identify and address any underlying challenges that could be preventing pregnancy.
